Asia Cup 2023: India vs Nepal, Game 5 – Stats Preview

India will square off against beleaguered Nepal in the fifth match of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, Pallekele on Monday. Both teams will be eyeing a win in order to qualify for the Super Four stage.

However, there is no doubt that the potent Indian team will enter the ring as a heavyweight favorite. Indian batters were able to get good batting practice against Pakistan after the game was washed out due to rain. Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan showed they can hold their nerves when the chips are down.

Pandya and Kishan scored 87 and 82 runs respectively and added 138 runs for the fifth wicket. On the other hand, Nepal could not pose any threat to Pakistan in their opening game of the tournament after their bowlers conceded 342 while they were skittled out for a meager score of 104 runs.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma needs 152 runs to reach the milestone of 10000 runs in the ODI format and he will become the sixth Indian batter after Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, and MS Dhoni to get to the feat.

India’s talisman Virat Kohli needs 98 runs to get to the landmark of 13000 ODI runs and he will become the second Indian batter after Sachin Tendulkar to get to the record.

Shubman Gill requires 53 runs to reach the 1500-run mark in the 50-overs version.

Ravindra Jadeja needs six more wickets to complete 200 scalps in the ODI format.

Nepal skipper Rohit Paudel requires 33 runs to complete 1500 runs in 50-over version.

Kushal Bhurtel needs six more runs to complete 1000 runs in the ODI format.

Aarif Sheikh requires 92 runs to get to the milestone of 1000 runs in the 50-over format.
