I have no shame in accepting that my ODI numbers are poor: Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav has undoubtedly established himself as one of the premier batters in the realm of T20 cricket, captivating audiences worldwide with his distinctive batting approach and a rich repertoire of shots. Notably, Suryakumar Yadav engaged in extensive discussions with KL Rahul and the captain, Rohit Sharma, delving into strategies to bolster his performance.

Speaking about his approach, he quoted, “My ODI numbers are very poor and there is no shame in accepting it. Being honest is very important. Rohit and Rahul have told me that this is a format you haven’t played a lot and you need to think about. We want you to play 45 to 50 balls (if you are batting in the last 15 to 18 overs), and you play accordingly, now it’s in my hand to turn this responsibility into an opportunity and how to contribute to the team’s success,” as reported by the Indian Express.

Remarkably showcasing his class and skill, Suryakumar Yadav left an indelible mark in the third T20I encounter between India and the West Indies. In a quest to chase down a target of 160 runs, Yadav emerged as a stalwart, delivering a breathtaking performance.
