IPL 2020: Ashish Nehra picks his best XI of the tournament

 

Former Indian pacer Ashish Nehra has picked his best XI of the recently concluded IPL 2020. There was no place for players like Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan in Nehra’s team of the tournament. Kings XI Punjab skipper KL Rahul and SRH captain David Warner are the openers for the former Delhi pacer.

Rahul scored 670 runs in 14 matches for KXIP and he finished as the highest run-getter of the season to bag the Orange Cap. Warner scored 548 runs in 16 matches at an average of 39.14 and finished as the third highest run-getter of IPL 2020.

At number three, Nehra selected MI’s Suryakumar Yadav, who has scored 480 runs in 15 innings at an average of 40 and strike rate of 145.03. The former Delhi fast bowler picked AB de Villiers to bat at number four. AB scored 454 runs in 14 innings at an average of 45.40 and strike rate of 158.74.

Mumbai Indians Ishan Kishan bats at number five for the former Indian pacer. Kishan scored 516 runs in 13 innings at an average of 57.33 and a strike rate of 145.76 and he also keep the wickets for Nehra.

Nehra selected Hardik Pandya to bat at number six. The right-hander scored 281 runs in 14 matches at an average of 35.12 and a whirlwind strike rate of 178.98.  Nehra picked Jofra Archer, who was named as MVP of IPL 2020.  Archer was brilliant with the ball as he scalped 20 wickets in 14 matches at an average of 18.25.

Rashid Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal are the two spinners in the team for Ashish Nehra. Khan scalped 20 wickets in 16 matches for SRH and played a crucial role in the success of his team. Yuzvendra Chahal snared 21 wickets in 15 matches for RCB.

Nehra picked both Ravichandran Ashwin and Mohammed Shami as his 11th player of the team. The former left-arm pacer stated that he will pick one depending on the conditions. Shami scalped 20 wickets in 14 matches whereas Ashwin took 13 wickets in 15 matches for DC.
