Former Indian cricketer Dodda Ganesh has urged Prasidh Krishna to watch Jasprit Bumrah and learn from India’s pack leader. Krishna could not hit the right areas in both innings and thus he was expensive. The lanky pacer from Karnataka returned with figures of 3-128 in the first innings in 20 overs he bowled, conceding his runs at an economy rate of 6.40.
In the second innings, Krishna took two wickets but once again gave away 92 runs in 15 overs he bowled, conceding his runs at 6.10.
On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah returned with impressive figures of 5-83 in the first innings and did the bulk of the damage but he went wicketless in the second essay.
Dodda Ganesh said on PTI, “Prasidh has always been a wicket-taker, but he needs to bowl with some consistency, and needs to focus on the areas he bowls. It will help him bowl more maidens especially when the ball gets older. He can’t bowl on both sides of the wickets.”
Ganesh wants Krishna to focus more on the off-stump area and hit the right line and length.
“In England, the ball swings around a bit because of the conditions. He just needs to watch Bumrah on how to bowl consistent lines, lengths. He just needs to concentrate more on the channel outside (off-stump), and he will be better,” he said.
In the press conference, Krishna also admitted that he failed to bowl the right length and he was on the short side in the opening Test.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Bumrah is all set to miss the second Test match in order to manage his workload.
The second Test match between India and England will be played at Edgbaston, Birmingham from July 2nd onwards.
