Former Indian opener Aakash Chopra feels Rishabh Pant’s availability will automatically sort out many things for Delhi Capitals in the upcoming season of the IPL. Pant is all set to make a return to action in IPL 2024 after recovering from multiple injuries, which he endured during a car crash earlier in the year.
Pant has been retained as the captain of the side and he will look to hit the ground running. However, there is no clarity on whether Pant will keep the wickets or not and the same will depend on his fitness. Currently, DC has Abishek Porel, who can take the gloves for the team.
Pant has scored 2838 runs in 98 IPL matches at an average of 34.61 and a blistering strike rate of 147.97. In his absence, David Warner led the Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023.
“Whatever they were doing was not right. There was a lack of intent in the powerplay, no one was trying to hit. Plenty of things were wrong last year and they are trying to correct them. They are doing that with a huge hope that Rishabh Pant becomes available. If Rishabh Pant is available, a lot of things get sorted out automatically,” said Chopra on his YouTube Channel.
Pant will certainly add a lot of value to Delhi Capitals squad and he will aim to get the job done for his team. The left-hander has the skills to turn the match on its head and he will look to deliver the goods with his blistering batting.
