Siraj and Prasidh Soar in ICC Test Rankings After Stellar England Series

India’s fast-bowling duo Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna have achieved career-high positions in the ICC Men’s Test Bowler Rankings, following their impactful displays in the recently concluded Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy series against England.

Siraj, who emerged as the standout bowler of the series with 23 wickets, surged 12 places to reach 15th in the latest rankings. His consistent spells across the five-match series, including multiple key breakthroughs, played a crucial role in India clinching the series 3-2.

Reflecting on the performance, Siraj said, “It was about rhythm and backing my strengths. The conditions challenged us, but I kept believing in my ability to deliver for the team.”

Prasidh Krishna, who delivered his most memorable performance yet in the deciding Test, claimed eight wickets and helped India edge out England by a narrow six-run margin. The 25-year-old’s efforts have been rewarded with a massive 25-place leap, pushing him to a career-best 59th position in the bowler rankings.

India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, who played three Tests in the series due to workload management, maintained his place at the top of the Test bowling charts with an impressive 889 rating points.

On the batting front, Yashasvi Jaiswal continued his rapid rise in international cricket. After scoring a commanding century at The Oval, the left-handed opener climbed three places to break into the top five of the ICC Men’s Test Batter Rankings. With 792 points, he joins elite company, trailing only England’s Joe Root and Harry Brook, who remain in first and second place, respectively.

Jaiswal’s consistent run-making throughout the series has turned heads, and he has now firmly established himself as a core member of India’s red-ball lineup.

Meanwhile, wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who was sidelined for the final Test due to a foot injury, dropped one spot to eighth in the batting rankings. He remains the only other Indian batter in the top 10.

India’s experienced campaigners and emerging talents continue to pay dividends, with the latest ICC rankings reflecting the team’s depth and growing dominance in Test cricket. As the cricketing world looks ahead to the upcoming season, these performances are sure to bolster India’s confidence in both pace and batting departments.
