India’s talismanic batter Virat Kohli has revealed that fitness for him is probably more important than batting practice. Kohli has always paid special importance to his fitness in the last decade and he is regarded as one of the fittest cricketers in the world.
Kohli has been one of the best batters in the world and he has reaped rewards for keeping himself at the top of his fitness.
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli wasn’t in the best of forms in the last couple of years but he always kept himself fit.
“Fitness for me is probably more important than cricket practice. I honestly feel that having a fit body makes you think better as well. So it could help people in their work, sport, anything that they do when you’re fit,” Kohli said while sharing his fitness mantra.
The 33-year-old cricket maestro also added, “If you just want to start your day off well and you look forward to actually doing a lot more on an everyday basis rather than just dragging yourself through the day which I think is not an ideal place to be in. I try to stay fit because if I have a moment where I can make a difference. When there’s pressure and I don’t have the bat in hand, it doesn’t mean my job is over. So you can always change the game with your feeling with your energy with your enthusiasm.”
“If you’re not physically ready, then you won’t be able to capitalize on those moments. so that’s something that I constantly look to do and work for that in the gym or on the training ground,” Kohli added.
On the other hand, Kohli scored a fantastic knock of 82 runs off just 53 balls in the high-voltage clash against arch-rivals Pakistan. The right-hander carried his form against the Netherlands as he went on to score another good knock of 62 runs off just 44 balls.
Kohli is going to hold the key for the Indian team in the upcoming matches and he would want to carry the same form. The right-hander has all the experience under his belt and he would aim to make the most of it.
