Jiteshwor Singh Commits Future to Chennaiyin FC with Three-Year Contract Extension

Chennaiyin FC midfielder Jiteshwor Singh has pledged his long-term future to the club, signing a new three-year contract that will keep him at the Marina Arena until 2028. The deal marks a major vote of confidence in the 22-year-old Indian midfielder, who has steadily grown into a vital presence for the team since joining in 2022.

Jiteshwor arrived at Chennaiyin FC after a breakout season with I-League outfit NEROCA FC and has since become a mainstay in the squad, making 54 appearances across all competitions over the past three seasons. Known for his work ethic and composure in midfield, Jiteshwor’s evolution has not gone unnoticed, both within the club and among rivals.

“Chennaiyin is home to me, and I’m delighted to extend my journey here,” Jiteshwor said after the announcement. “This season, I had to work hard to earn my place back in the team, and I’m grateful for the trust the club has shown in me. I’m excited for what’s ahead and ready to give my all for the club next season.”

Jiteshwor’s development and commitment were also praised by head coach Owen Coyle, who described the extension as a positive step for everyone involved.

“Jiteshwor signing his new deal is fantastic for the football club, fantastic for Jiteshwor, and everyone else involved. We recognise what a talented player he is,” Coyle stated. “This season has been a bit stop-start for him, but you can now see the impact he is making in the team, and he’s only going to get better.”

The midfielder’s decision to remain with Chennaiyin FC comes amid interest from other Indian Super League clubs. However, Jiteshwor’s loyalty and belief in the club’s vision proved decisive.

“There’s been interest from lots of other clubs, but Jiteshwor himself showed his commitment to the club. He knows what we’re trying to build,” Coyle added. “As much as this has been a tough season, he knows exciting times are ahead and we’re delighted to get him on board for the long term.”

With this renewal, Chennaiyin FC strengthens the core of its squad heading into the next ISL campaign, while Jiteshwor Singh continues a promising chapter with the club that has become his footballing home.
