Nick Kyrgios has predicted that Carlos Alcaraz will have a better career than Jannik Sinner. Alcaraz and Sinner are currently the two best players on the tour. While the Spaniard has already won five Slams in his young career, the Italian has won three.
Alcaraz has an unbeaten record in Major finals, whereas Sinner has won three out of the four finals. The duo played an epic Roland Garros final recently, in which Alcaraz won the thrilling contest after five hours and 29 minutes. The Spaniard saved three championship points against Sinner in the fourth set and made an incredible comeback.
Nick Kyrgios said on talkSPORT, ‘This is a tough question. No, I think they’re both incredible players and they’re both different. Personalities are wildly different, you know.
‘Carlos Alcaraz, he loves to get amongst it, loves to party a little bit, and he’s an incredible personality. Where Sinner likes to keep his head down a little bit more and I think he’s going to stay on the straight and narrow, a little bit more than Carlos.
‘But right now, I mean, Carlos continues to win the bigger matches against Sinner, you know, that French Open comeback was probably one of the greatest Grand Slam finals we’ve ever seen. You know, Sinner had three match points, unable to put him away, and that just shows the spirit of the Alcaraz going back and winning that.
The controversial Australian added that Sinner could finish strongly after turning 30.
‘But I would probably put my money on Alcaraz having a better career, but I think Sinner could get in the later stages, when they both turn 30, could probably, you know, finish strong.’
Alcaraz and Sinner would look to be at their best in the upcoming Wimbledon, which would begin on June 30.
